Stereo Large Wooden Piezo Contact Microphone

A handcrafted passive stereo piezoelectric contact microphone with a unique wooden shell and rubber pads, created for sound experiments, sound research, live performances, and sound recording.

The microphone combines a recycled hardwood shell with protective rubber pads, creating a distinctive and natural-looking sound object.

The wooden shell is made from recycled hardwood and impregnated with acrylic varnish for increased durability. Each microphone has a unique wood grain and pattern, so no two pieces are exactly alike. The wood pattern is naturally different on every product and cannot be selected when ordering.

The rubber pads affect the high frequencies, giving the microphone a more natural sound while also helping to protect the piezo elements.

Output options

• One-side mono – to be used with a mono jack cable (TS) and connected to a mic/line input.
• Two-side mono – to be used with a stereo/balanced jack cable (TRS) and connected to a mic/line input.
• Stereo output – to be used with a stereo/balanced jack cable (TRS) and connected to a stereo input.

Amplification

For better amplification and a fuller sound, it is recommended to use a preamp or Hi-Z (JFET) input.

Mounting

The recommended way to attach the microphone to a surface is with double-sided tape.

You can also experiment with different mounting methods to find what works best for your particular sound source and application.

Do not press the microphone too hard against the surface, as excessive pressure can affect the sound and potentially damage the piezo elements.
